You knew something had to give. One doesn’t spend more than 15 years designing a lineup of some of most breathable waders and outerwear, only to have the breathability compromised by substandard layering pieces. KC Walsh and his design team have poured their efforts into the design and manufacturing of powerful wicking, quick drying layering products. The first and foremost important factor in good layering garment is it’s wicking or breath ability, not just the movement of moisture off your body but the transport moisture from one product to the next. Without this wicking quality, moisture is going to stay against you skin or even worse stay in the garment keeping you wet and cold. The next determining factor to a great layering piece is the garment’s drying ability. The quicker and easier a garment dries, the more moisture the garment can move, again movement is good as it keeps you dry. Wicking only works if the garment can dry fast.
