The new Simms Headwaters Packs were designed by Simms’ own MarkTerwilliger, formerly of backpack manufacturer Dana Design, and theyoffer a host of new options for efficient gear management on the water.Coming off the success of the dry bag-style Dry Creek line, Simmsapproached the design of a more versatile line of packs with a fullhead of steam. The Headwaters backpacks feature rain flies and stowablerod-carrying options, and the waist and chest tackle packs havemultiple, well-thought-out ways for organizing all you need to fisheffectively. Throughout the line, great attention has been placed onmaintaining a no frills aesthetic – as a result, needless bells andwhistles that snag line or fly are nowhere to be found. These designsare both smart and handsome: an understated dark brown is complementedby a trim of well-loved Simms orange. The unobtrusive look is a nod totradition, for sure, but it stays true to the technical aesthetic forwhich Simms has become known.
