When KC Walsh bought the wader side of LifeLink out of Jackson, WY, his intent was to develop waders that could withstand the abuse of full time fishing guides. It wasn't long before the Simms name was seen on the majority of the guides in the Rocky Mountains.When W.L. Gore decided it was time to put GORE-TEX in waders the logical choice was Simms. Working hand in hand with Gore, the Simms designers soon developed the now famous Guide Wader. Cold, windy weather can ruin anyone's day. There is no reason to travel hundreds of miles or even just a few blocks to go fishing if you go unprepared. You might as well stay at home. With today's modern breathable materials there is no reason to end up wet, either from the rain or from perspiration. Today's thinking in warmth and protection is moisture movement and layering. You simply add or remove layers to maintain your all day comfort zone. The final layer is just as important as the first. That outerlayer must be breathable in order to get rid of that moisture ASAP! It must be designed for active movement. And finally it must be functional. You really don't want to wear something that will drag in the water, nor do you want to unzip in a downpour to get your fly box.
