How is it done? By using a sophisticated GLX graphite layup, G. Loomis designers were able to take the tip diameter to the thinnest possible while maintaining strength in the mid and butt sections. The result is a fly rod that has just the right amount of flex, permitting the give needed for fine tippet protection, even when a surprisingly big trout comes to call. This allows the rod to load with a minimal amount of fly line beyond the tip for delicate, short casts. What a great combination; tippet protection with pin-point accuracy when you need it, from a medium action fly rod!

G. Loomis has put together a wonderfully appointed fly rod series with the WhisperCreek. This series is intended for the small stream, gin clear water trout angler and is available in 7 models ranging from 2 through 5 weights and lengths from 7’9” to 9’. PROS – Wonderful to cast dry flies for delicate presentations. The WhisperCreek series adds a touch of direction to classic medium action fly rods. Pure casting at its finest. This series has amazing fish fighting power for a medium action fly rod.

CONS - Specific fly rod series for fishing smaller streams and large spring creeks. I am not sure about the use of the offset oval reel seat on classic action fly rod, but the insert of buckeye burled wood is a nice touch.

BOTTOM LINE – Sweet casting dry fly rod with exceptional power. If your fishing takes you to gin clear waters with spooky trout you need a WhisperCreek.
