Leland on Fly Fishing Gloves:
In fly fishing, finger control is everything. If you
don't have on the right gloves for the right occasion, the results can
quickly end your day, or even worse... Whether it's the potential
cancer-causing UV rays, or the frostbite cold, you need the right glove
for the right occasion. We have weeded through the collection of gloves
that are out there, and narrowed it down to select few that we know
work. We know they work, because these are what we wear.
Wearing the right apparel while you're
out on the water can make the difference between a good day and bad
day. By wearing the proper clothes, you can concentrate on the fishing,
not the cold and rain. At Leland, we know how important selecting the
right apparel can be. We've fished all over the world and in almost all
weather conditions. Our advice? Buy the right clothes before you go on
that trip, so you have it when you need it! Simms layers are designed to
make your overall experience not only more comfortable, but safer as
well. Whether you’re going to Belize, British Columbia, or your local
river, bring the right gear. Your fishing experience will be more
enjoyable!

Simms on Conservation:
“IF YOU COULD PASS JUST ONE THING DOWN TO YOUR KIDS, WHAT WOULD IT BE?”
“Fishing is dependent on clean water, healthy ecosystems and just as important, people who care about conservation and resource preservation. It is theresponsibility of everyone who enjoys angling to help protect andenhance our fresh and saltwater fisheries. After all, what greaterinheritance would we leave future generations?
Supportinglocal, regional, and national conservation organizations is certainlyan important role that angles can play in caring for our fishingresources. However, one area of vital concern, and one that all anglerscan easily help do something about, is the spread of aquatic invasivespecies. These “hitchhikers”, including New Zealand mud snails, Didymoand whirling disease are having an enormous effect on rivers across theUnited States and are directly linked to reduced trout populations.Unfortunately, anglers are part of the problem, given that invasivespecies are spread by “hitchhiking” on waders, wading boots, driftboats, trailers and other gear.
YOU CAN HELP PREVENT THE SPREAD OF INVASIVE SPECIES IN THREE EASY STEPS:
1)Thoroughly rinse all fishing gear -including waders, boots, boats, andboat trailers- in clean freshwater upon leaving a water source. Nevertravel from one river to another without clean gear.
2) Air-dry gear before moving to another body of water.
3) Tell other anglers about this problem and what they can do to help.”
