Leland on the Thingamabobber Strike Indicator
Tired of combing mucillin into your yarn every fifth cast? Then the Thingamabobber Strike Indicator is made for you. Available in
three sizes -- 1/2", 3/4", and 1" -- which are perfect for small stream trout, all around trout, and steelhead nymphing, respectively, the Westwater Thingamabobber was
inspired by northern Rockies guides who used small
balloons for nymphing with clients. Highly visible, super buoyant, and affordable, these bobber-style strike indicators are built to last.
Leland on Specifications
Indicator nymphing is hardly the be-all-end-all of fly fishing, but it certainly
has its place in our repertoire of tactics. The Westwater Thingamabobber 1400, 1401 and 1404 are easy-to-use and easily maintained tools to
help you out if trout or steelhead won't respond to other presentations. Use the 1/2" Thingamabobber with wary trout in smaller water, while the
1" will suspend two tungsten nymphs and some B-size split shot.
