JOSH L. FRAZIER

Josh is the owner of Leland Fly Fishing Outfitters, which he named after his grandfather, whose love of the sport was passed down to him through generations.  Josh travels the world in pursuit of fish, but his favorite fishing holes are back at his roots in the small mountain streams of the Eastern Sierra.
"I do anything that is needed to make it all work for my great employees and customers."

LAUREL KOHL FRAZIER

My nickname used to be ‘Mama Leland’… and I would help out during the busy holiday season with order fulfillment and shipping, plan the holiday party and the like. Today the business has grown beyond Mama Leland. I’ve spent the past six years partnering with Josh to design and implement the Leland Fly Fishing Ranch, in Sonoma. It’s been very rewarding collaborating my passion for design and architecture with Josh’s dream of creating the best fly fishing educational facility.

KEITH WESTRA

Keith's lo
ve of fly fishing started on the north coast of California pursuing king salmon and steelhead. He is an expert in custom fly tying and prides himself in being able to match that "one of a kind fly." When not tying or working, you can find Keith chasing stripers in the San Francisco Bay and Delta or high-sticking for trout in the fastest waters he can find. He is the manager of our retail showrooms and provides creative services for Leland as well.

MATTHEW JONES

Originally from Kansas, MJ moved to the Bay Area via Florida. While in the Sunshine State, he spent 5 years fishing the flats and surf for reds, snook, and jacks. Now living in the Sunset neighborhood one block from the beach, you can find MJ hunting stripers, steelhead, and salmon in the rich waters of Northern California from the coast to the Sierras. MJ does the buying, and he's also a casting instructor, and he all around helps out where he can.

He than began to devote his attention to Steelhead. George has fished all over the United States. His fly fishing accomplishments include three time National Casting Champion, and he holds numerous casting records. George manages our warehouses, websites, and internal systems.

BURKE WHITE

My favorite fish to chase is Pacific Steelhead. There’s just something about this fish that is haunting…where it lives in the ocean, what it eats, why it grabs a swinging fly…I hope I never find out the answers to these questions. At Leland I work in Video Production, Business Development, Product Development and taking out the garbage.

KEITH BRAUNEIS

It was the high desert of New Mexico that did it for me...It's where I caught my first rainbow trout on a dry fly. At Leland, I am the Creative Director.

James Park

My first fly fishing trip was on the Little Truckee River that was given to me as a birthday gift.  I was lucky enough to sign up for fly tying classes immediately upon returning to San Francisco where I met the Leland crew.  The earliest influences in my fly fishing were the old timers that used to “steelhead” around Northern California and the guys at the casting ponds in SF.

VAL ATKINSON

I like to fish for big Rainbows on Fall River with small dry flies. I found that special place in Fall River Valley where I've been photographing the fishing, nature and the old barns for many years. At Leland, I am a photographer.

ALEX MILLER

I’ve caught saltwater fly fishing syndrome. All I want to do is be on the flats, scanning for bonefish. I love wading barefoot, am learning to pole a boat, and am dying to get my first permit. At Leland I work on online media development and provide the most comprehensively awesome customer service in the industry.

BILL LOWE

I love almost any fish that will take a swung fly...steelhead and trout are highest on the list. A very close second is catching any fish on a dry fly. I'm currently the lead Spey Casting Instructor at Leland's Ranch, in Sonoma.

ROB PORTIL

I love trout fishing in small mountain streams almost to the exclusion of everything else. The beauty, the challenge, the excitement, the very Zen of it. At Leland I manage the web development.

You name it I am game, saltwater flats to the rainy Oregon coast for Chinook and steelhead on the swing, to the Deschutes river for red sides during the salmon fly hatch, to the high sierra for browns , brookies, and rainbows. I am the ranch manager at the Sonoma Ranch.

CARRIE ROCHE

I’m a sucker for a big brown, slurping bugs and sitting in skinny water, but will happily fish for anything with a fly rod. I’m a fly casting instructor at the Sonoma Ranch.

DAVID DINES

You know that old saying, “The best way to learn how to fly fish is to get a job copywriting for a fly fishing company...” Well, it's been something of my creed since I started here at Leland. You might run into me improving my cast at the ponds when I'm not busy writing copy for the Leland website.

CASEY ROLIG

At Leland I like to wear many different hats as it keeps the day interesting, from shooting product photos to assisting with the website updates. However, I spend most of my time in the Upgrade Program writing ebay listings, shooting the products, and ultimately helping our Upgraders fish the gear they want
