Leland's Multi-Day Courses on Fly Casting,

Fly Fishing, Fly Tying and Other Topics

SCHOOLs start again spring 2012...book now to save a spot!

For beginners and experts alike, we offer a host of multi-day courses and sequences on fly fishing topics. From our summers Kids' Camps, to our Spey casting instruction, to our annual steelhead weekend, we have a fly fishing school on a topic you're interested in.

Kids' Fly Fishing Camp

Four days of fly fishing classes, designed specifically for kids ages 9-15, hosted by the charming and enthusiastic Jim and Rachel Andras. Including the option to purchase our Sonoma Emerger Fly Rod Combo package, this is the ultimate way to get kids hooked early on. Learn more about our Kids' Fly Fishing Camp.

Spey Casting School

Casting with two handed, or Spey, rods can be seriously effective and seriously fun.
Leland's Spey Casting School takes anglers from the controlled environment of the ponds at our Sonoma Ranch, through some basic precepts and ideas, all the way to the moving waters of California's steelhead rivers, where you'll hone your casting skills with the chance to tie into some steel. Learn more about our Spey Casting School.

Annual Steelhead Fly Fishing School

Steelhead are mythical fish on the Pacific coast,
and for good reason. A powerful, mysterious, and demanding quarry, steelhead are some of our favorite fish to target with a fly. Every September, we hold a three-day school in Sonoma to prepare anglers for the coming steelhead season. The host of 2011's Steelhead Fly Fishing School is southern Oregon guide and star of Skagit Master II, Scott Howell.

Bass Fly Fishing School

Because bass are some of the most fun fish to chase with a fly rod,
we've developed our Bass Fly Fishing School to enable fly anglers to give the gear guys a run for their money on bass waters near and far. Reading water for bass, casting into structure, with large, wind-resistant bugs, and hit-and-hold fish fighting will all be covered in this school. Learn more about our Bass Fly Fishing School.

Saltwater Fly Fishing School

Our Saltwater Fly Fishing School takes anglers through an introduction to the unique demands of fly fishing in saltwater, casting in the wind, good habits to develop on the boat and while wading, and big game rigging. This school will have freshwater anglers ready to make the most of their first trip to the salt, and can even teach salty old dogs a thing or two about maximizing every opportunity on the flats.
