CASTING STUDENT FROM FLORIDA

I enjoyed our morning together and learned 6 critical points.  I have incorporated most of them into my casting and it has really improved.
I fished with Dan Blanton on Monday.  We were both using 8 wt. SA T-14s.  We were both casting the full line and I was proud of the fact that I could match his casts.  Towards the end of the day we switched rods and I was happy that I could cast all the line he had off the reel.  My loops have really cleaned up and it is nice to watch them unfurl.  Thank you George.
We did a 50/50 deal where we both fished.  We caught 58 stripers of which at least 20 were keepers.  He ended up catching 3 or 4 more than I did because my back gave out towards the end.  As I told him "He may have caught a couple more fish but mine were prettier."
Thanks again for all your help.  I suspect the order that you found when you came to work today may have triggered this e-mail.  If  so, I am glad it did.
If you can make it to Florida, let me know.  My offer for a bed and a some guided fishing is genuine.  I would love to fish with you.

STUDENTS FROM OUR EDUCATIONAL FLY FISHING RANCH

My sons and I completed the rod and reel day at the Ranch last weekend…Everything from beginning to end was outstanding.  The initial welcome was comforting and reassuring.  The cordiality of everyone associated with the Ranch was top-notch.

The facility is extremely well done and classy!  Lunch was tasty.  The rod, reel and line provided are exceptional. The instructors truly made the whole experience a great memory and an extraordinary lesson.

Rachel Andras and Bill Lowe were the best. They are pleasant and friendly, knowledgeable and skilled, informative, patient.  The attention to all 8-class members was second to none.  They were on top of everything.  We can’t express enough appreciation for their excellence.

Art Hau handled all of the administrative matters with thorough dispatch and patient concern.  He made everything easy with no glitches.

We’ll be returning for follow-ups after we take time to practice what we’ve learned.

A SATISFIED NEW RED TRUCK DIESEL 7100 OWNER

Did "Graphite for Graphite" and picked up a 7100 Diesel.  Just wanted to compliment you guys...  This was the first time I've casted or fished this rod.  I've never liked many other 10 foot rods, but this baby was a dream to cast. I was chucking an integrated T-11 outbound line on it and fished Lake Nacimento for White Bass this past weekend.
Ended up getting some nice spotted bass, a few whites, and a nice channel cat...

My Scott rod made it to the UK without mishap. Quite a journey - San Francisco to Pfafftown NC then to my home in South Cliffe UK. I am delighted with the rod and it casts like a dream (on the front lawn at least!) Hopefully I will use it on my local trout stream on Thursday. Once again thanks for all your efforts.  Might sound strange that I don't know what line I want as yet - I'm being given a yellow ultra3 saltwater but haven't yet established if that's a floating or intermediate line.  If it's the later I'll be after a GPX 7wt otherwise an intermediate and there I have no idea.  Rod purchases still look favorable so when I'm ready a little later this year I'll be in-touch does the $75 cover shipping rods?  Finally I'll make sure I spread the Leland word around my fishing circles - I think your efforts have been outstanding.

These are the tools of the trade today. The new Sage Z-Axis 690-4 is the rod!! Its awesome, its a animal of a rod! I love it. I think Sage have got it right! Look what I caught on my inaugural trip with the 8 weight rod and reel you sold to me!
We saw this 44” Northern in the weeds about 15 feet down but couldn’t get him to swim up to the spinners we were using so we got out the fly rod and put on the blue and white fly I got from you with one of the wire tipped leaders and, after a couple tries, got the fly down to his level and he took it.
