Hart's Dark Lord

Based on the classic impressionistic nymph, the Prince Nymph, Hart’s Dark Lord solves the problem he found with many insects that populate his Shasta trout waters – their dull or dark coloration relative to other nymphs and emergers from around the country. Hart’s solution: he turned down the colors of the effective Prince Nymph, but used materials that would preserve the attractive contrast of the Prince Nymph’s classic design. Hart also included longer legs in the bug to make it swim more like the real thing. The results have elevated Hart’s Dark Lord to star status on many early season fly fishers’ lists and is an especially effective imitator of early season stoneflies like the Little Brown Stonefly.
